Amazon has been rolling out its new lineup of Kindle e-readers, starting with an updated entry-level model featuring a brighter display and a stylish Macha green design. But that’s not all – a whole host of new Kindle devices are on their way to UK stores, including the Colorsoft, Amazon’s first e-reader with a color screen, set to be released in December, as well as an upgraded version of the premium Scribe model. The Colorsoft is expected to hit the shelves next month.

The 2024 Kindle Paperwhite is the star of the show, boasting a 7-inch illuminated display, waterproof design, and an impressive three-month battery life. It’s also said to offer the fastest page turns of any Kindle device to date, making for a seamless reading experience.

But if you simply can’t wait for the 2024 model, there’s good news – a brand new Paperwhite will be available for purchase later this week. The Amazon Paperwhite has been a best-seller since its launch in 2021, and the latest update promises to be the fastest and most powerful version yet, with increased storage capacity, a 25% faster page-turning speed, and an improved browsing experience for accessing your Kindle Library and Amazon Store.

The new Paperwhite is perfect for perusing best-sellers or diving into fascinating autobiographies, thanks to its high-contrast display and larger 7-inch screen. Amazon claims it’s also the thinnest Paperwhite ever, fully waterproof, and can last for three months on a single charge, making it ideal for reading sessions in the tub.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition takes things up a notch with 32 GB of storage, optional wireless charging, and auto-adjusting front illumination, in addition to the 16GB of storage included in the standard model. With prices starting at £159.99, the device is certainly an investment – but you can get 20% off by trading in your old Kindle through Amazon’s trade-in program.

In addition to the exciting new Kindle releases, the stock market in New York City is abuzz with activity as traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange during morning trading. The blue-chip index closed at a record high, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures remained stable on Monday night.

Futures tied to the 30-stock average saw a slight uptick of 55 points, or 0.1%, while Nasdaq 100 futures and S&P 500 futures traded close to flat levels. The positive momentum follows a strong day on Wall Street, which saw the S&P 500 and Dow reaching new intraday highs and closing at record levels. The Dow crossed the 43,000 mark for the first time, gaining over 200 points.

The S&P 500 was led by a surge in information technology stocks, with the sector posting a 1.4% increase. Nvidia’s 2.4% rally helped push the market higher, leading to a record close for the artificial intelligence powerhouse.

Citi’s U.S. equity strategist, Scott Chronert, cautioned that the S&P 500 may be slightly to significantly overvalued, but favorable news flow could keep the market buoyant for the time being. Investors will be keeping a close eye on economic data related to consumer sentiment and manufacturing, as well as on speeches from Fed officials including Adriana Kugler, Raphael Bostic, and Mary Daly throughout the day.
